Importance of Strategically Networking

Welcome to Athena Bytes, a short sound bite packed with relevant, informative, and free project management and scrum master career advice. We will release new episodes every week. This edition of Athena Bytes is focused on the vital importance of strategically networking to land your next program manager, project manager, or scrum master opportunity. In this short 3-minute audio clip, I share important advice you should not ignore on how to strategically network to land your next job opportunity.

In the current job market, managers are being asked to do more with less. Budgets and teams are being cut, but organizations are still required to move forward with critical projects.

For managers, this means they can only bring in new team members who they feel they can trust and hit the ground running on day 1. In this scenario, hiring managers tend to lean into their own networks to find people to fill opportunities on their teams or pay close attention to strong recommendations from those that surround them. If you are not in this pool of candidates, your chances of landing an interview or getting a job offer can be drastically diminished.

Lori has a unique ability to balance the big picture while diving deep into the details, which she used to help me refine my financial management skills and ensure that every project I managed stayed on track and within budget.

Lori's guidance on budget forecasting, resource allocation, and cost optimization was invaluable.
